Illuminating TFH's roofline

In the heart of Truckee, where pine trees meet mountain skies, The Tahoe Forest Hospital stands as a beacon of care, resilience, and community. This season, Sierra Lighting had the honor of enhancing that presence with a subtle yet striking holiday roofline display—one that speaks to both celebration and compassion.

A Gentle Glow for a Place of Healing

Hospitals are places of gravity and grace. Our goal was to create a lighting design that honors the work being done inside—supporting patients, families, and staff—while adding a touch of seasonal warmth to the exterior. We outlined the roofline of a number of buildings at the hospital in warm white LEDs, carefully tracing the architectural edges to highlight the buildings. The result is a soft halo effect that feels both uplifting and grounded—visible from the street, yet never overpowering.

Designing with Intention

This wasn’t about spectacle—it was about presence. Our design choices were guided by offering a quiet moment of beauty for those arriving, departing, or simply passing by. Whether it’s a patient arriving for treatment, a nurse finishing a long shift, or a neighbor driving past on a snowy evening, we hope this display offers a small sense of peace and connection.

A Season of Light, A Spirit of Care

At Sierra Lighting, we believe that light can do more than decorate—it can communicate. For the hospital, that message is one of hope, dignity, and togetherness. We’re proud to have played a small role in brightening this space for the holidays, and grateful to the Tahoe Forest team for their trust and collaboration.
