Lighting the Forest
Skylandia Park in Tahoe City is one of those rare places where the forest meets the lake in a way that feels untouched — towering pines, filtered sunlight, and a shoreline that glows at sunset. For this wedding, Sierra Lighting was asked to bring warmth, visibility, and celebration into that wild setting — without taking away from the quiet charm that makes Skylandia so special. The result was a fully custom, fire‑safe lighting design powered by a discreetly hidden generator, engineered to brighten the night while keeping the forest peaceful.
A Tent That Glowed From Within
The reception took place beneath a Shade Shifters tent, and we transformed it into a welcoming, luminous centerpiece. By adding soft, warm string lights throughout the canopy, the tent shifted from simple shelter to a glowing gathering space — bright enough for dining and toasts, yet gentle enough to let the surrounding trees and lake remain the stars of the evening.
Forest Lighting That Connected Every Space
Across Skylandia, we used tree wraps to tie the entire celebration together. Around the games area, warm mini‑lights created a playful glow that kept guests laughing and lingering into the night. The memorial space received a softer, more reverent treatment — gentle wraps that guided guests toward the photo display without overpowering its quiet emotion. Near the food‑truck, overhead strands and additional wraps built a warm, communal atmosphere where people naturally gathered to eat, talk, and settle in. All of it was powered safely and discreetly by a hidden generator, ensuring the forest stayed peaceful while the celebration stayed bright.
A Night That Felt Effortless
In a place as naturally stunning as Skylandia Park, lighting should feel like it belongs — enhancing the landscape, not competing with it. This wedding was a perfect example of that balance: thoughtful design, technical precision, and a warm, inviting glow woven through the trees.
